Contemporary artist George Condo has renewed his partnership with Hauser & Wirth, marking a return to the international gallery less than a year after ending a six-year collaboration. Alongside the announcement, Hauser & Wirth confirmed that it will present major solo exhibitions by Condo at its Paris and Palo Alto locations in 2027.
The renewed relationship follows Condo’s move to Sprüth Magers and Skarstedt in 2025. However, the artist will continue his longstanding association with Sprüth Magers, according to a gallery spokesperson. Monika Sprüth first exhibited Condo’s work in 1984, making the partnership one of the longest-running relationships in his career.
New exhibitions will connect historical and recent works
Although Hauser & Wirth has not released curatorial details, the gallery confirmed that both exhibitions will combine historical works with new paintings. Consequently, the presentations will examine the evolution of Condo’s artistic practice while establishing connections with the cultural histories of Paris and Palo Alto.

“My love affair with Paris may be decades long but it’s endlessly self-renewing,” Condo wrote in a recent statement, highlighting the city’s rich traditions of art, literature, and creative thought. “At the same time, I am extremely curious about the prospect of Palo Alto and bringing new art to the birthplace of technology.”
The dual exhibitions also reflect the artist’s continued engagement with distinct cultural environments, pairing the artistic heritage of Paris with Silicon Valley’s reputation for technological innovation.
Partnership follows major museum survey
The announcement comes after a significant period in Condo’s career. In 2025, the artist presented a major retrospective at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, further reinforcing his position as one of the leading figures in contemporary painting.

“George is, and always has been, a true pioneer,” Hauser & Wirth president Marc Payot said. “With his uncanny ability to synthesize past and present into a completely new artistic language, we know these exhibitions will dazzle.”
With the renewed partnership, Hauser & Wirth expands its long-term relationship with Condo while preparing two exhibitions that are expected to highlight both the historical development and the contemporary direction of the artist’s practice.
