On May 3, Havas New York, the worldwide advertising and communications network Havas Group’s North American flagship creative agency, will hold a special opening reception for the 5th annual AD ART SHOW, which will include the introduction of a Specialty Clio in Contemporary Art. More than 120 artists from advertising, commercial design, and related industries have been selected for the 5th annual AD ART SHOW, according to MvVO ART, the show’s curator.
On May 3, Havas New York will welcome artists, selected press and art professionals, as well as a jury of well-known art collectors, who will announce this year’s winners and present a Specialty Clio in Contemporary Art to the artist who receives top honors.
“We believe in the power of creativity in all aspects of life,” said Dan Lucey, chief creative officer of Havas New York, “therefore we’re happy to host the opening reception for the 2022 AD ART SHOW and honor the force of artistic discovery in the advertising profession.”
The exhibition will return to New York City’s Westfield World Trade Center in 2022, a shopping and dining destination, transit hub, and iconic Santiago Calatrava architectural landmark. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, and mixed media works will be shown on Westfield’s massive, high-impact digital advertising screens within the Oculus from May 1 to May 31, 2022.
“The AD ART SHOW bridges the gap between the art world and advertising by advocating and celebrating advertising artists,” stated Maria van Vlodrop, CEO and Founder of MvVO ART. In Adweek’s annual Creative 100 List in 2020, Vlodop was recognised as a “Cultural Shaper.”
Visitors to the AD ART Event will receive a complimentary dessert and coffee from show partner Eataly during the month of May. On the MvVO ART Artsy gallery page, works by AD ART SHOW artists are also for sale. The main art market site for collectors, art, provides artists with another path for discovery and an opportunity for art enthusiasts to acquire works early in their careers.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the annual MvVO ART/AD ART SHOW once more. This collaboration allows us to exhibit an exceptional selection of artwork created by some of the world’s most outstanding artists. The show provides an unexpected visual treat. Loren Miller, SVP US Media and Strategic Partnerships, said, “We welcome everyone to visit Westfield World Trade Center to witness this fascinating work firsthand.”
The AD ART SHOW debuted in 2018 at Sotheby’s New York and turned fully digital in 2019, 2020, and 2021 at the Westfield WTC’s Oculus. With each new addition to the event, MvVO ART continues to develop, providing new chances for artists.
