Horror manga icon Junji Ito and “flesh artist” doooo are joining forces once again for a chilling new exhibition titled “Human Flesh.” Opening at Café & Bar Mother Factory in Kawasaki from November 3 to December 28, 2025, the show explores the grotesque and surreal through sculptures that appear to be crafted from human skin.

Reuniting after their viral 2022 collaboration inspired by Ito’s Tomie, the duo unveils a series of skin-clad objects that blur the line between beauty and horror. Among the returning pieces are the eerie “mouth coin purse” and moving “eye dice,” now joined by new works based on the cannibalistic model Fuchi, one of Ito’s most infamous characters.

The exhibition’s highlights include a hyperrealistic severed finger seal stamp and a fanged coin purse modeled after Fuchi, both meticulously designed to evoke visceral unease while celebrating Ito’s distinctive brand of horror.

To commemorate the collaboration, visitors can also purchase limited-edition merchandise featuring Tomie and Fuchi motifs — including t-shirts, keychains, and gacha toys that miniaturize the unsettling artworks.

Each Human Flesh art object will be available exclusively at Mother Factory, priced between ¥33,000 and ¥660,000 JPY (approximately $216–$4,340 USD).

With Ito’s psychological horror sensibilities and doooo’s unnervingly tactile artistry, Human Flesh promises an experience as disturbing as it is unforgettable — an art show that feels almost alive.
