MORROW collaborated with Art in Space, the only multi-sensory gallery in the area, to bring Dubai an exhibition that is entirely immersive in terms of sight, sound, taste, emotions, and scents. The exhibition includes real-world artworks and NFTs that have been combined with augmented reality and displayed on a 360-degree screen.

The MORROW group is the curator of the exhibition, 613. With the help of the creations of three artists, Petra Kaltenbach, Gabriella Anouk, and Fareha Zeba, it examines the legend pertaining to the pomegranate fruit. The pomegranate fruit has a magical allure for these three female artists. Petra, as a representation of change and love. Gabriella for the exquisite detailing of its jewel-like seeds, and Fareha for its regenerative properties and fertile symbolism.

The pomegranate is a legendary and powerful fruit that dates back to antiquity. The fruit is occasionally broken in wedding chambers to promote the birth of several children because it is believed in many religious traditions to have fertility-boosting powers. The jewel-like fruits are said to contain 613 seeds in all of scripture, one for each of the Torah’s and the Bible’s commandments. In Islamic literature, legend has it that each pomegranate contains one seed.

The pomegranate is also known as the forbidden fruit, having lured Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden and bringing on winter when consumed by Persephone, the Greek goddess of spring, perhaps as a result of its enigmatic attraction.

The MORROW collective organized this exhibition, which is on display in Art in Space, the only fully immersive digital gallery in Dubai. The artwork will incorporate sight, sound, taste, touch, and scents as three prominent female artists explore contemporary interpretations of the pomegranate’s meaning.
