Chuck Black, an artist deeply connected to nature, has dedicated his life to capturing the beauty of the outdoors through his artwork. From a young age, Chuck felt a profound passion for the natural world, constantly attempting to translate his experiences onto paper. Drawing became his artistic outlet, but he knew deep down that his true calling was in depicting wildlife.
Motivated by this realization, Chuck pursued a degree in wildlife biology during his college years. This educational journey led him to work with national parks and wildlife agencies across the United States for six fulfilling years. However, amidst his fieldwork, Chuck’s love for painting continued to grow and integrate into his life.
In 2015, Chuck made a pivotal decision and relocated to Southwest Montana, where he decided to fully embrace his artistic passion. With unwavering determination, he took the leap to become a full-time artist. This transition allowed him to focus solely on his artwork and delve deeper into his connection with nature.
Chuck finds inspiration in the breathtaking landscapes of “big sky country” and the rural areas of the United States. He remains captivated by the extraordinary scenic countryside that harbours thriving wildlife. From the East Coast to the West and from the Southeast to the North Shores of Alaska, Chuck has discovered beauty in unexpected places, constantly exploring and uncovering the wonders of nature.

He celebrates the diverse communities and landscapes that make up his country, paying homage to the wildlife that thrives within them.
