OMEGA and Swatch have once again joined forces to release the MoonSwatch 1965, a new addition to their highly successful collaboration. This latest model celebrates the 60th anniversary of the OMEGA Speedmaster’s NASA space flight qualification—a historic milestone in both watchmaking and space exploration.
The MoonSwatch 1965 retains many of the defining elements of its predecessor while incorporating modern updates. It features the signature OMEGA logo, distinct hands, and the iconic Speedmaster wordmark. A crisp white dial, inspired by the 2024 Moonwatch Professional, enhances its vintage appeal, blending timeless aesthetics with contemporary craftsmanship.
Distinctive Design and Premium Features
The MoonSwatch 1965 includes unique chronograph modifications that pay homage to the year of NASA’s qualification. The 10 o’clock subdial counts 19 hours, while the 2 o’clock counter tracks 65 minutes—both referencing 1965. The watch also boasts Grade A Super-LumiNova® coating, ensuring excellent visibility in low-light conditions.
Constructed from Swatch’s innovative Bioceramic material, the timepiece comes in a 42mm case with a matte gray finish. The design is completed by a contrasting black tachymeter bezel, a NASA-inspired VELCRO® strap, and an engraved caseback featuring co-branding and the original mission statement.
Availability and Pricing
Set to launch on March 1—the same date NASA certified the Speedmaster for space missions in the 1960s—the MoonSwatch 1965 will be available at select retail locations. Unlike previous limited editions, this model will be released as part of an ongoing collection, priced at $270 USD.
