In the Islamic world, calligraphy is an important art form. The Qur’an is Allah’s — or God’s — divine word, which Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received directly from Allah during his visions. It is written in elegant scripts.

The art form has always been an important aspect of Islamic arts, allowing practitioners to develop their souls to be patient with all the small details and to draw every line in a way that fulfills them.

Many artists from the Arab world and around the world are currently attempting to raise Islamic and Arabic art, based on centuries of dedication by historical artists, philanthropists, and scholars.

For many, mastering Quranic calligraphic expressions is a means of Islamic mysticism that uncovers hidden dimensions of the cosmos during Ramadan, the holy month. In addition to memorising Quranic texts and reciting them out, this spiritual craft would connect the seeker and practitioner not just to scripture, but also to other forms of contemplation.

Abda Fayyaz a Pakistani artist who has been actively practising calligraphy for the says , “I take satisfaction in the fact that I am amongst these young artists, reflecting a blend of modern and contemporary art and old techniques. ”

For almost five years, Rahman has been practising calligraphy. “Ramadan is the most important month for each Muslim,” he explains. It’s a month when we get our wishes, such as forgiveness for our misdeeds, granted. During the holy month, I will try to complete at least 5-7 calligraphy pieces.”
