Rick Owens made a commanding return to Paris Fashion Week on day four with his Fall/Winter 2025 collection, Concordians. The collection reflects his formative years in the small Italian town of Concordia, where he embraced solitude while building his namesake label. Immersed in the strict rhythm of industrial production, Owens spent five years sleeping in his office, refining his craft. This experience deeply influenced his latest designs, which balance structure and fluidity while maintaining his signature dark aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from his recent collaboration with Rimowa, Owens presents a collection that blends simplicity with bold, sculptural elements. Leather flight jackets, featuring rounded shoulders and exaggerated collars, set the tone. Asymmetrical outerwear, made from luxurious wool and detailed with silver hardware, introduces a structured yet unconventional silhouette. Meanwhile, deconstructed gowns with slashed indentations add a sense of controlled disorder, revealing subtle glimpses of skin beneath fluid drapery.

Innovative Craftsmanship and Sculptural Designs

This season, Owens experiments with fresh draping techniques, sculpting glistening felt into floor-length gowns that command attention. Each piece reflects his ability to transform fabric into structured yet fluid designs. The juxtaposition of sharp tailoring with softer, flowing elements creates a striking visual contrast, reinforcing the theme of isolation and discipline.

Collaboration plays a key role in the FW25 collection. Owens continues working with London-based designer Leo Prothmann, who reimagines leather chaps that transform into slouchy Kiss Boots. Parisian designer Matisse Dimaggio contributes pleated tops and hoodies, while Tanja Vidic crafts intricate, apocalyptic knitwear, reinforcing the designer’s avant-garde aesthetic. These collaborations infuse fresh perspectives into the collection while maintaining Owens’ distinctive vision.

Embracing the Future While Honoring the Past

Beyond structure and craftsmanship, Concordians represents a deeper exploration of personal growth and creative isolation. Owens revisits the discipline that shaped his early career, using fashion as a medium to express the beauty of solitude. By integrating past influences with modern techniques, he creates a collection that is both reflective and forward-thinking.

With this latest showcase, Owens reaffirms his ability to push boundaries while staying true to his origins. His FW25 womenswear collection stands as a testament to the power of discipline, self-reflection, and artistic evolution.
