As winter intensifies, Engineered Garments and Helsinki-based footwear label Tarvas have returned with a third collaboration. This release builds on a partnership that began in 2019 and has steadily evolved in both form and intent. Consequently, the latest project places greater emphasis on comfort while retaining technical credibility.
Design and Construction
Designer Daiki Suzuki reworks Tarvas’s Wanderer into a slip-on silhouette designed for cold-weather ease. The updated model features faux fur uppers and arrives in three versions: leopard print, black, and an extra-plush gray fur. While the design shifts toward casual wear, functional elements remain central. The Portugal-made shoe sits atop Tarvas’s signature mudguard, which wraps the entire upper for added weather protection. Meanwhile, a low-profile Vibram rubber sole delivers grip and traction without competing with the statement upper.
Partnership Context and Availability
Previously, the collaboration debuted with a suede interpretation of Tarvas’s Explorer before returning in 2023 with the Forest Bather model. In contrast, this edition leans most clearly into everyday comfort, aided by its lace-free construction and hybrid aesthetic. The Engineered Garments x Tarvas Wanderer is now available through Tarvas and Nepenthes retail channels.
