Jack Winthrop is a highly accomplished artist hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, born on July 26th, 1989. After spending a decade living and working in New York City, he recently made the move to Los Angeles to further his artistic journey. He holds a BFA in graphic design from the renowned School of Visual Arts in New York City.

From an early age, art came naturally to Jack; it was a part of his essence, and his curiosity and diligence led him to create new things every day. Presently, Jack is immersed in exploring spontaneity and defining his own unique artistic style. His art reflects a deep flow state that emerges during the process of creation, almost like a form of spiritual introspection.

Jack predominantly works on large-scale canvas paintings, pushing the boundaries between fine art and subculture/street culture. Through abstraction, he breaks down the human form, seeking to create a mirror that transcends the filters of self-perception. His work showcases a profound understanding of form, color, composition, balance, and aesthetic, honed during his time studying design in New York City.

One of his ongoing series, titled “TOTEMS,” delves into spiritually guided journeys, using symbolic representations to portray personal experiences and narratives. Each piece is infused with intention, manifested during the painting process, and subsequently becomes the title of the artwork. Jack explores the transformative power of art and its experiential meaning within a space, acknowledging that each totem holds its own energy and frequency, resonating with its final environment.

His art is a testament to introspection and spiritual growth, representing his breakthroughs and awakenings. Through abstraction, vibrant colors, and compositional techniques, he critiques reality and deconstructs the human form, leaving the viewer in a state of wonder and contemplation.

For Jack, art is more than just a visual representation; it becomes a time capsule, capturing moments and emotions that contribute to the collective history of humanity. He aspires to present an accurate representation of his experiences through his art, leaving behind a meaningful legacy in the artistic world.

Jack Winthrop’s journey as an artist is a profound exploration of self-expression, spirituality, and the transcendent power of art to evoke emotion and introspection. Through his distinctive artistic approach and ongoing series, he offers viewers a glimpse into the depths of his creativity and the transformative potential of art.
